Is 19 too young to get married?

I’m on a drug detox program and as I was doing the laundry to keep my mind off getting another fix I noticed something in my boyfriend’s jacket pocket. It was a box with a ring in it and a letter attached around it. It was his extremely odd way of proposing to me. I’m 19 and he’s 24 and we’ve been together 6 years and I’m pregnant. I’m 11 weeks pregnant and I’ve made up my mind to keep it hence why I’m on a detox program which I am taking seriously this time - I asked my step mother for help and I’m normally too proud to ask for help.
But I’m thinking that now maybe I’m too young to be married so my question is, Is 19 too young to settle down and get married and have a kid?
I’m not in college, I dropped out when I got addicted to drugs. But we do have some savings. I really don’t want to go into detail of how I got money to buy heroin.
I do love him to pieces and he is part of the reason I’m getting clean so I’m sure I can see a future between me and him
Ty’s not on drugs, he hates them with a passion as they took away his brother and these are his words ‘ the personality of the girl I fell in love with, I wants her back with her spark I see and not the empty shell everyone else sees’
He has stood by me and helped me as I’ve gone in and out of rehab countless times. But what he said about loosing me has hit me hard which is why I’m so determined to get clean.

There is nothing wrong with getting married at 19. If you really love him, then do it. Nobody has the right to judge whether or not your life is “right” or “wrong” anyway - everyone takes their own path, and not everyone’s lives are meant to be on the same course.

It doesn’t seem like you’re to young, it’s good that he’s helping you quit drugs and I wish the best for you two!

Hun, 19 is not young to get married if that’s what you really wanna do. Your boyfriend sounds like a great guy!! If you love him enough to spend the rest of your life with him and make a family -since you’re now pregnant.. then GO AHEAD!!! He’s there to support you and your baby!!
You’ve taken the first step of recognizing you’ve got an addiction and getting help. I cannot imagine how tough it must be, but KEEP ON!! You have a baby, God sent you this baby, this blessing for you-look it’s already making you get cleaned up, and regain your life back, it has made your boyfriend to propose to you…

Gabriella said it really. there is no age on marriage and love. you should also marry so that your child will know his/her father. i got married at 17 and people said that i was waaaay to young, but I figured that theres no age on love!

You sound so smart and mature. And by getting help with your addiction you are showing an even greater maturity. Nineteen is not too young for marriage. You are already starting a family with your boyfriend, why not make it official?
I got married 2 months after I turned 18 and I am almost 21 and expecting my first child. Everyone tried to tell me not to get married because I was to young but did I listen, NO! I married my husband because he was the one for me and I was (and still am) so very much in love with him. It sounds like you and your boyfriend share the same kind of love.
My vote is to go for it. But in the end it is up to you. Just ask yourself if he is the one that you want to be with forever and to help raise your child. From what you said, he sounds like perfect husband material.
