Improving Your Diet With Fresh Fruit And Vegetables
If you’re like most people in the western world you probably need to start eating a lot more fruit and veg every day. There are some people who will find this easy to accomplish, but the majority of people are still finding it really difficult to do. If you K.I.S.S (keep it simple stupid) you’ll be able to find small changes you can make to your diet everywhere you look, even if you eat out every day. Here’s a quick way to start your journey - swap any pasta’s or rice on your plate with a scoop or four of protein rich vegetables. You may have to specifically ask for more veg on your plate but don’t be afraid.
When I’m visiting my local deli place I always order a healthy snack, try this one out… When you place your normal order just ask them to hold on the mayo and fatty cheese, you can get extra meat and vegetables instead. If you need some kind of sauce on your sub just add olive oil and vinegar. You can grab more fruit by replacing your junky deserts like potato chips and chocolate chip cookies with oranges or apples.
If you want six pack abs it’s important to eat as much fruit and veg as you can as it helps keep your body fat percentage low, the perfect abdominals work out can be found here.
If you want to get on the right track quicker try meal replacements. Instead of eating a fat filled mid afternoon lunch try eating a nice big healthy salad. In my opinion salads which you make yourself, as opposed to buying pre-packaged from the supermarket, are the best way to go. If you’re not liking the idea of preparing your own salads I insist you just try it, just give it a go, I promise you’ll love it.
Try making you meals the night before, you can leave it in the fridge so its good to go the next day. This will save you a lot of time and money, if you find yourself in a rush you won’t have to run into the closest fast food place to grab a bite to eat, instead just visit your fridge. As we discussed earlier, replacing junk food snacks with fruits is just another small change that can make a big difference, so try keeping fruit in your fridge at all times.
If you spend a lot of time at fast food joints like Burger King or McDonald’s remember that they also have the option of fruits instead of sugar filled junk foods. Even though the ready made salads at the supermarket aren’t the best, they are always better than non at all, so if your honestly so busy you can find the time to make your own salads you should grab one from there.
